Bit of a whirlwind at the moment. Not sure whether I am coming or going. Had a Business briefing on the Thursday to say the company wasn't doing well and there would be 5 redundancies, and then on the Monday told it was ME! It seemed to come out of nowhere. I managed to stay at work until the Wednesday morning when I was 'officially' told I was being made redundant, but after that I had to leave. It was unbearable sitting at the desk knowing I wasn't wanted.
I did spend the Monday and Tuesday 'preparing' to leave. I was able to send stuff home and copy anything that might be useful in my future - job wise. But I also made damn sure that I was up to date on everything I had been involved with during the last 8 months. I could not have left it knowing it was a mess!
Probably a bit of an exaggeration, but it feels like a death. I am struggling to get my head around what to do next. I have been given a month's 'Garden Leave' but that money will soon be here and gone......Do I clamber to get the first job or aim to start looking after the summer so I can spend it with Jamie. However, a summer without a job means less money to spend on Jamie!!
My head is spinning and now its the Easter holidays so I won't have a moment to think for another couple of weeks!!

Free Lincolnshire Weekend
Had a message from Auntie Chrissie Friday morning asking if it was OK if they came up for the weekend. I sent a text back to say we had nothing on but thought we would go to the castle and cathedral as it was a free weekend! She sent a text later in the day to say they would be here just after midnight on Friday. That was great as then we were able to get up early and get up the hill, get parked and into the castle and cathedral before it got too busy.....
On the Sunday we had a ride on one of the old fashioned buses at the Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum http://www.lvvs.org.uk/ :

Holi Day
Holi, the Hindu festival of colours, takes place on Monday March 17. I had never heard of it, but Jamie and his classmates celebrated it on Tuesday. They all went to school in their scruffs and came home with their faces painted - and their clothes!! I didn't expect Jamie to have his face painted as he has always refused in the past, but apparently he painted Joseph and then Joseph painted him. And a jolly good mess it was!!

What would you do if you were King or Queen for a day?
As part of talk homework last week, children were asked to be an imaginary member of the royal family for a day and to imagine they were able to wear a crown or a suit of armour for the day.
What would you do? Would you pass any new laws or do something special for yourself?
Jamie said; If I were a princess, I would wear shiny shoes everyday.

First School Trip....
As part of this terms 'Fantasy Topic' (it says here) Jamie had a school trip to Tattershall castle
www.nationaltrust.org.uk/tattershall-castle/. Invited as guests of Lord and Lady Cromwell the trip was to help the children see the differences between the ages.
They were promised a tour of the castle, dressing up in medieval costumes, playing medieval games and dancing to medieval music!
When I got to school (they were only a few minutes late) one of the parent helpers came over to show me a photo of Jamie and his friend Evan (new friend, invited to his party) asleep on the way home.
This meant that he has been full-on all night - or should I say knight?
Thanks to Sam's mum who helped out and took some pics:

Party Organisation . Sometimes its hard....
Jamie has been so excited about his forthcoming party, and last night helped me to write a number of the envelopes. Well, he wrote the first letter so mummy could write the rest of the names.....
This morning, we left for school early so that he could give them out.
So excited: 'Can I take Joseph's'? 'Where is Isabells' etc.
Jamie gave out about 5/6 before deciding he wanted to sit at the drawing table!!
Some children were very casual about the invite (Miss Popular), and some very excited; shouting about the invite and asking lots of questions....
Then 'Where is Eleanor's invite?'
'Sorry Jamie, we have not invited her'
The poor little girl then watched as I put the rest of the invitations in each of the respective drawers, but not hers. I felt awful. Took me right back to being at school myself.
(I have explained why we cannot invite all the class and have told him if any can't come, there will obviously be places for other children. But I also reminded him that when I asked him who he wanted to invite, he never mentioned Eleanor!)
First party where we have invited children and parents we don't really know.
What have I let myself in for?

Got my cuddle....
Finally got to see Seth. We had decided not to go and visit him the first few days as Jamie had a cough and I am still taking antibiotics for my lingering flu. And then poor old Hannah had trouble with her bowels (which can be quite serious after a cesarean) so she wasn't feeling too good.
At last they let them out on Saturday and Nana kindly agreed to have Noah overnight as she was already having Jamie.....When we picked her up on Sunday morning she looked shattered after having had them both for over 15 hours, but she was rewarded with a cuddle from her three grandsons!!
