Mummy has gone back to work

After what has been an age (88 working days apparently) I have gone back to work.  Initially doing half days and then hopefully back to my usual 25 hours after the Bank Holiday.  I am not sure that I am really ready.  I am not sure that I ever will be.  However, I know I need to get back for my sanity if nothing else.  Oh, and the money will come in handy!!

Vegetarianism

For a while - including Christmas Day - Jamie decided he wanted to be vegetarian.  But almost as soon as he decided to NOT eat meat, a few months later he woke up and decided he wanted to EAT MEAT again.

Not sure the reason he chose not to in the first place.  Could be due to us having our own chickens (who were unfortunately killed by a fox in the summer) which perhaps made him think of animals as living creatures?  The reason he started again?  Perhaps it was the choice of meals at school (he has always had hot school means, which are currently free!).

I guess we will never know......

Sooty!

Had a fantastic afternoon yesterday watching Sooty, Sweep and Soo in the production of The Wizard of Oz at Lincoln Theatre Royal.  We loved it!!

Had a fantastic family day out visiting Nottingham Castle; which is less of a castle and more of an arch, and then off to Sherwood Forest and to see the Major Oak.   As you can see, Jamie loved it!!

Birthday Party Number 2 !

After the family party at the weekend we organised a party for Jamie and his school friends at The Wacky Wharehouse.  As they did most of the work it was (almost) relaxing.  As you can see we paid extra for face painting, but I didn't feel confident that Jamie wouldn't run off if we had had the 'character' dress up.   The only drawback is that we were unable to invite as many friends as we usually do....

Happy 7th Birthday Jamie!

Sunday afternoon we had a small party at the house for Jamie.  If we had known the weather was going to be so pleasant we would have invited more.  But Jamie loved it.  Although it wasn't his actual birthday we said that he could open any presents that he was given.....
