What a Wonderful Weekend....

.....celebrating Auntie Chrissie's birthday.  All she wanted to do was chill, so out came the pool and the water pistols and the water bombs.  Invitations were sent to the other cousins and the sun shone all weekend.  Happy Birthday Christine!!

Back to school and the new routine...

So pleased this morning.  Not only was Jamie fit and well, but we had no trauma about the new routine today.

I asked if he wanted me to stay and wait for them to line up (as he wanted me to on Monday), but he told me I could go......and off he ran with Joseph to play.

So happy.  Xx

Poorly, Sick...

Jamie said he had a pain in his tummy and felt sick about 5.30am this morning.  I put it down to the new routine, but after he was sick a few times, I realised it perhaps wasn't altogether an excuse....

He had come back from school last night very tired and we had let him go to bed / sleep almost straight after his tea.  So, I suspect it may have been a combination of over-tired and nerves from yesterday.  He was up and about for his tea and wouldn't stop eating!!

Jamie is far too much like his mummy.....

Preparing for Year One

Change in the routine this morning!

In preparation for a smooth transition to Year One, morning routine is now:
  • You and your child come in at 8.35-8.45.
  • Child put away their own belongings.
  • Go back into the playground until the whistle blows.
  • Then children line up ready to come inside.
Only, first morning of the new routine and Jamie is in tears.  He really didn't like it.

But lining up, he was stood behind Joseph and Isabell; who were both really happy and confident, and they said they would look after Jamie....

Jamie Loves TinkerBell!!

As daddy has been hard at work in the garden this week (he has been erecting an arbour and creating a 'secret' path at the bottom of the garden) I decided to take Jamie to the pictures to see Tinkerbell and the Pirate Fairy.   Once again it was a fantastic afternoon for just £2.50 each plus the price of an ice cream:      www.thevenuelincoln.co.uk/      Highly Recommended!!

Rufford Park School Trip

Last night I had a horrible dream that Jamie got off the bus and then I lost him!!

When daddy came in this morning (he is on nights this week) I was telling him, and Jamie got all worried until I explained it was 'just a dream'.

The letter from school about the trip, stated that the children would be working with an artist to create some artwork, then they would be exploring the sculpture park and practising their sketching skills.  Perfect for a boy who wants to be an 'artist' when he grows up!

The days leading up to the trip had been quite sunny but weather today was rather changeable - one minute it was sunny, the next showers, but at least it was warm throughout most of the day!

But nothing to worry about, Jamie had a fab day and told us all about it when he got back.  (Apparently he fell asleep on the way home again!)  He said he loved the park and wants to go back.

As its only 40mins down the road we promised to take him again.  I have sent the details to Dean and Christine as they are members of English Heritage and I am sure Lucy would love it too!!

Clearing out the BatCave

One good thing about not working is having the time to hit the 'To Do' list.

First and foremost was the need to give The Batcave; as Jamie's room is now known, a good clean and de-clutter.  This obviously had to be done while he was at school.

Nana has taken two bags of old toys to the charity shop and I have tried to sell a few things via FaceBook.  If these don't get sold in a few days I will give them away.

Its whether Jamie notices or not.....
